Story board with kit and problems before shooting for Fashion media lab project

This is my storyboard. It tell a story about a girl struggles against the control of consumerism.

As I am really terrible at drawing, I tend to find some similar shooting footage through other films as well as using my still image test to build the storyboard.

A general outline of the storytelling:

Part 1: The model lying on her stomach on a white blanket, looking into a round mirror, smiling and feeling enjoyable. Then she become a bit confused and suspicious while she is playing a disco ball. The ball is whirled quickly, reflecting the model’s face which is fuzzy and changing.

Part 2: There is a big oblong mirror. The model stands beside it and then slowly walks to it. She looks down at the mirror, doing some exaggerated body movement, looks like touching and checking each part of her body. She lies down on the mirror, looking at it. Slowly close her eye.

Part 3: Her eyes open with a piece of mirror fragment below her face. The model raise her face, looking at the piece of fragment, confused. She sit on the ground with a lot of mirror fragments around her. She looks nervous, struggling to piecing those mirror fragments into an entire one. Reflection of her face us on some pieces of fragment and a piece of fragment with cracks. She pick up some of fragments one by one, which reflects her eyes, mouth… Each fragment reflects that the model is making up – lips/ shading power / eye (mascara, eye shadow, eye liner, eyebrow pencil, false eyelash) can be exagerated like putting lip out of mouth

Part 4:
The model uses lip to draw cracks on the big mirror, looks crazy and angry. At the end, she cover the reflection on her whole body in the mirror with a piece of black clothes. The more and more things you bought and rules on each part of your body finally cover the real person who you are.

Problems remaining to be solved before shooting:

  1. How to avoid to make the film looks like anti makeup
  2. Do I need to present consumerism in the film? /How to visually present the ever-increasing amounts of demand created by consumerism
  3. Choice of background color? green / grey / black / cream
  4. the mirror fragment be placed on the floor or taped to the black curtain?
  5. How to avoid being cut by glass?
