Andy Warhol at Tate Modern and footage of the merchandise

Andy Warhol at Tate Modern – Exhibition Tour | Tate

During the temporarily close of Tate Modern, I found this exhibition tour video shared by Tate Modern on YouTube. Andy Warhol’s LGBTQI identity and concerns with death and religion is discussed through the immigrant story.

It provides me with more stories behind Andy Warhol such as his silver factory, a studio that gathered with many rock stars, musicians, artists and where he created paintings and films – I even didn’t know his work as a filmmaker before watching this. Although the video is short and has no direct link to my project, it helps me better understand the pop art artist and pop art, which lead to more thinking about the relationship between the way pop art work and merchandise works.

In addition, my friend Yev visited the exhibition and brought merchandise with is a tote bag with Andy Warhol’s famous painting Marilyn Monroe’s portrait. She sent the footage to me as part of my research.
